Mine, too. Too much in one day.
One bright spot is the pilot who survived in CO.

Just dang about your back.....I often feel your pain :-)
But, maybe the rain you got made things a bit better for you.
It's a great movie, indeed!
I'm going to watch the rest of it now....later!

Not the first time it’s knocked me down but it’s a doozy this time. But it’ll get better eventually.
Glad the movie’s a goody. I may just have to go out to get it. Enjoy!

It was good that his jet went down in a large field so he could eject.
Nashville news showed aerial footage of the crash site at Smyrna and it was VERY close to a large apartment complex. Capt. Kuss did an amazing job keeping his jet from hitting it.
So many prayers going out tonight for some very unhappy families. :-(

Was it anywhere near your little corner of the world?
I feel so badly for his family, but he was a hero in the finest sense of the word!

Smyrna is only about 50 miles or so as the crow flies. It’s not far this side of Nashville and we drive through it the rare times we go to Nashville. I went to the base a couple of times a few years ago to welcome home some National Guard soldiers returning from Iraq.
I was in the car when the news broke about the crash this afternoon and almost had to pull over. But at the time, there wasn’t any news about the pilot and I hoped he’d ejected. It wasn’t until I got home that I heard the sad news.

Had to be pretty personal with it happening so close to home. :(
I wish he had been able to eject. But he was trying to save the lives of others...like heroes do! *sniff*

It does make it feel a little more personal, I guess.
The Blue Angels have always been a bit special any way and to lose one so close to us hurts. They’ve been at many of the annual air shows at Smyrna and we’ve talked about going to see them. But traffic around there is bad any day and with so many trying to get to the show, it would be a nightmare. So we haven’t gone.
They won’t be flying this weekend. I didn’t catch who would be flying in their place when they mentioned it on the news earlier.
