The Jet crashed after doing a fly over after Obama’s speech at the Air Force Academy.
How did he parachute to safety after the crash?
Either ran out of fuel or those reman parts from Pep Boys failed...

I was at the first Thunderbirds flight demo to use the F-16, at Norton AFB, San Bernadino, CA, 1983. Hopefully they are using newer aircraft now.

Wow, hate to hear this!! Three good things though: 1)our pilot is alive and well, 2)they had completed their graduation ceremony performance, and 3) our pilot had the good fortune to be able to aim for a field away from the graduates and local church nearby. I’d say our good Lord was looking out for all involved! Horrible story nonetheless but it does have a few bright spots I guess...
That's pretty impressive. Usually they bail out *before* the plane crashes.

Below is from an AF friend…a rumor or leak, still sad if true.
Following their flyover at the AF Academy, the 6 ship Thunderbird formation remained in flight over the local area awaiting a join-up photo-op with AF#1 due to take off after graduation ceremonies ended. But Obama took his sweet time on the way back to Pete Field. Whoever was running this “photo op” ordered the flight to continue to “hold” causing them to exceed their bingo fuel limits.
