Good comment, indeed. Torturous punishment leads to cutting the hands off of thieves and beheading blasphemers, which amounts to a spectical and reduces us to savages. Just quick and effective without all the sport. I think it sends a better message by denying celebrity to the scumbag. Let their names be buried with them.
You miss the point. Do you have small children? Are you getting enough exercise for them? Who will you let monitor your children for exercise?
How did I know, before reading even the excerpt, that the toddler was a boy. I’m surprised there isn’t some government program now that will pay for infant sex changes.

Where did I say that? I said she "gets pregnant." Unless she was raped, she had the final word on whether she would have sex or not.
And I don't see the father(s?) of her children breaking their arms and legs and finally killing them. So however responsible or irresponsible he (they) was (were), this is not about him (them).
However this doomed little boy came into existence, he has a natural father out there somewhere.
That natural father is AWOL for whatever reason. He's the sperm vendor (oops, "donor") who disappears after he pocketing his pittance for his 5 ml of fatherhood; or he's the drunken hit-and-run inseminator, or the bye-bye husband (unlikely, with the lesbian dam, but possible) ---
For whatever reason, as I said, he's a gone dude. Thus he is, will-he or nill-he, one half of the problem.
The child has a natural right to his natural father for identity, for one half of his kinship universe, for providence, and yes, for protection.
The fact that the natural father never assumed his obligations, is part of the reason why this little boy is dead.

I agree that his irresonsibility contributed in some measure to the situation these unfortunates found themselves in, but he did not beat them, torture them, and finally kill them. He just left them to be be beaten, tortured, and finally killed.
So yes, he is as big a POS as the deviant sadists who snuffed the life from that child, but his was a sin of omission. He was notable only by his absence.
The only consolation I can muster is that this child is in the arms of Jesus now and he will know what real love is. Liam certainly never knew it on Earth. May these two monsters be damned to Hell for all time and suffer what they did to this innocent child.

I never agreed with JPII about the death penalty, and I always thought he played right into the hands of the Bernardins, always ready to help Catholics rationalize voting for pro-aborts. As Mario Cuomo said, “The Pope is saying that ‘pro-life’ isn’t just about abortion.”
In the last 20-some years, no execution has ever been carried out without a statement from the local bishop calling for “mercy.” The rigid fulfillment of this duty is astounding.
Someday many Americans will gladly volunteer for the job of wielding a brine-soaked rattan cane on the back of one of those who has caused the demise of this nation.
Let the incorrigible evil ones, the murderers, those who have committed so many depraved-heart crimes--- yet having been given a chance to repent, and may God have mercy on their souls--- be executed.

I wrote that for two reasons:
1. To dispel this myth that mothers are by nature better parents than fathers. This poor child (this poor victim of our failed social experiments) had not one but two mommies and they couldn't muster a grain of morality between them to stop what they were doing.
2. To show that 5000 years of traditional families have proven what the best structure is for children. Allowing same-sex couples to adopt children is a recipe for disaster and the victims of that disaster will be the children themselves, whose moral compass is being and will continue to be smashed to bits by a socio-political agenda.
