Bingo. I left Houston in ‘88 for that very reason.
My property taxes kept going up and I never saw that money again. The roads around my house were deteriorating, crime was going up and when I called HPD, I got a recorded message. I came to realize that my tax money was being used for the care and feeding of democrat voters.
I came to Houston in 2013 for work. Now I live 20 miles outside the city and only go into Houston for work. And I do my best to never stray off the highways and the loop.
