As I grow in age, I realize that all the wars we have ever fought, or have threatened to fight, have been pointless.
For example, we should have let the Soviets overrun Europe. By now, they’d be free from the Soviets, and they would not be so quick to create a local fascist overreaching tyranny.
I’m almost inclined to agree with you.
I say that after having just gone to a very large Memorial Day ceremony and seeing hundreds of US soldier KIA gravesites from WWI through Iraq 2.
I cannot imagine the feeling of parent’s betrayal for the senseless loss of their sons, when they see “normalized” relations with communist Vietnam where we lost 53,000 sons, and our giving away Iraq and Afghanistan after sacrificing 6,000 soldiers there ten years ago.
This 5 minute veteran tribute video prose sums up best how our soldier sons pay the ultimate price for politician’s reckless ego and misjudgement.
Just a common soldier

I said the same damn thing on FR a while ago, but then again I do not want to think all the allied deaths in saving Europe was all in vain though it is sure looking like it.
