“A recent national poll had Johnson receiving 10 percent of support from registered voters.”

Right, and he was polling at 9% early on in 2012, before finishing

Yeah, and Johnson was polling at 9% in 2012, and finished with <1% of the vote.

Why do we go through this same exact song-and-dance with third party candidates every four years? They always poll decently early, fade late and do jack all on Election Day. Nothing's changed; Johnson will get around 1% this November, as is the Libertarian Party's norm. The media pretending otherwise is tantamount to all their 'contested convention' B.S. from March to May.

The media is trying to manufacture drama and intrigue.

Weld, I don’t now his position on guns but the guy is no libertarian. This ticket may be as appealing to Bern Outs as to disaffected Republicans, it’s sure not appealing to me.

To Recap, Governor Gary Johnson won the Presidential nomination on the 2nd ballot

First Ballot 925 total delegate votes

Johnson (socially liberal, only moderately libertarian) 458 votes 49.5%

Austin Petersen (Paulbot hardcore true believer, Pro-life at least) 197 votes 21%

John McAfee (Wackjob) 131 votes 14%

The rest to the Peanut Gallery, 3 dudes I don’t know from Adam and several write in votes, including 1 each for Ron Paul, Vermin Supreme, and Derrick “The Minister of Truth” Grayson, a conservative Black Republican who was just defeated in the Georgia Senate primary by incumbent Johnny Isakson (he also ran in 2014).

2nd Ballot 928 votes, 3 more than the first ballot

Johnson won with 518 votes 56%

Petersen 203 votes 22%

McAfee the same same 131 votes 14%

The first VP ballot saw 869 votes

Weld 426 vtoes, 49%

Larry Sharpe, whoever the heck that is, 30%

William Coley, whoever the heck that is 11%

Derrick Grayson, who had the backing of McAfee, 5%

Alicia Dearn, a lawyer who had the backing of Petersen, 3%

6 votes for “None of the Above” and 3 write in votes, including 1 for Petersen and 1 for JOHNSON, if the VP vote was held after the P vote, that’s pretty damn silly.

The second ballot saw 872 votes, again 3 more votes, weird

Weld won with 441 votes, 50.6%

Sharpe got 409 votes, 46.9%.

12 votes for None of the Above, 9 for Grayson who withdrew but after they handed out the ballots, and a write in for some guy

is it New Mexico infested, like California, with a lot of East Coast liberals and lefties? Legacy of the hippie era up in Taos and Santa Fe. Now they think they own the place. combine that with a lot of traditional Hispanic Democrats who don’t know any better, like a lot of American blacks and you have a situation that is almost Beyond Redemption

FUBAR

Libertarian = open borders

And open pornography...
And open drug use...
And open prostitution...
