Trump has always maintained he would be self funded for the primaty and use traditional campaign finance methods for the generak election.

You can donate to Trump’s campaign at his website. I would rather do that than give to the RNC. Perhaps if the RNC cleans up its act, I will donate to them in the future, but not now, not while their policy is to give the Democrats what they want.

It seems Trump himself has refuted the story. From his twitter feed:

Trump prefers a mean and lean operation.
He won the nomination having spent less than $50 million.
Trump doesn’t want a top heavy campaign because that’s not how he does it and he hates to waste money.
And spending lots of money is no guarantee of success.
Jeb blew through $140 million dollars in the autumn and winter with nothing to show for it.
Plus, with Trump’s universal name recognition, money is not as critical a consideration as it would be for someone not as well known.
