Arguably (not a position I take personally, but ... arguably) Japan's sneak attack on Pearl Harbor was a pretty typical opening of hostilities between two countries between which tensions had been running high for some years. They gained the element of tactical surprise while we were sleeping, and should not have been.
It would be more devastating to ask 0bama if he ever talks about Japan's depredations in Manchuria, or if the Japanese have "morally evolved" since Bataan.

This is an excellent point. But I have to point out that the highly self-centered, introspective and self-deprecating American education system does not teach the younger generations much about the Japanese during WWII. It wasn’t until I was much older and came to know some older Chinese that I started to hear the truth of the Japanese invasion of China; as horrific as the Germans in Europe.

I’m glad you decided Pearl Harbor was no big deal. An attack on our country. What were you smoking?
FYI at the same time Japan launched massive attacks around the Pacific against many countries, plunging the world into an even bigger global conflict. Screw Japan in WWII THIS is our country.

We should not have been sleeping; they should not have done a sneak attack. They attacked us at Pearl Harbor and we fought them all the way back to Japan and forced them to unconditional surrender. Just as we should have done. No apology.

Holy Cow! Someone who actually knows history??? Very good call.
Say what you want but the Japanese attacked a military base. They could have attacked civilians. They made a military move against the US and punched us in the nose. Hard.
We retaliated by bombing schools and hospitals. Realize that they did not have zoning laws against having industrial platforms butted up next to schools and hospitals. We bombed their military industrial facilities and there were casualties.

Japan still has not apologized to China or Taiwan for enslaving comfort women.
Japan claims that the comfort women willingly gave their services to its military.
Obama being apparently a fudge packer himself, this find point probably escapes his moral reckoning.

Actually, the Pearl Harbor (and Phillipines) attacks were war crimes, aggressive violations of the peace without warning or declaration of war.
[Wikipedia]"War crimes also included deliberate attacks on citizens and property of neutral states as they fall under the category of non-combatants, as at the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the attack on Pearl Harbor happened without a declaration of war, without explicit warning, and went out of proportion, all military and civilian casualties at the harbor were officially non-combatants, the military were not ready for face up to the attack and the attack was declared by the Tokyo Trials to go beyond justification of military necessity and therefore constituted a war crime"
