Coaching Year 12 into believing Hitler was a conservative

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority recommends teachers take Year 12 students to a play by a communist apologist mocking Hitler that has now been reworked into an attack on “the current waves of conservative politics spreading across the western world”:

The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui by Bertolt Brecht Theatre Company Phillip Rouse and Co, presented by Theatre Works…

The Resistable [sic] Rise of Arturo Ui is Brecht’s satirical allegory about the rise of Hitler in the lead up to WWII. Written while in exile from Nazi persecution, this play contains all the hallmark aspects of Brecht’s epic theatre. He set his play in gangland Chicago of the 1920s, the home and playground of Al Capone, and casts Hitler as Arturo Ui – a small time criminal who becomes the head mob boss of Chicago. This production will be performed in the epic theatre style of parable. Each scene will be its own set piece, demonstrating a particular aspect of Arturo’s rise and highlighting how that moment corresponds with the historical rise of Hitler. This production draws connections between the events of the play, Hitler’s ascension to power, and the current waves of conservative politics spreading across the western world.

Yes, Hitler the National Socialist is not reworked into an attack on, say, modern socialists such as Bernie Sanders, but on modern capitalists such as Donald Trump. And Hitler the Jew-hater is not reworked into an attack on the modern Left’s boycott-Israel campaign, either.

But what is accuracy to education bureaucrats who cannot even correctly spell the name of the play they’ve chosen for propaganda purposes?

KEYWORDS:
This concerns Victoria, Australia. For clarity, Year 12 is the final year of High School here. Students typically spend Year 11 and 12 doing the VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) which is used to determine access to university and other higher education courses as well as serving as an equivalent of a High School Diploma in the US.

I'm a History teacher at a private school in Victoria - because my school is independent, we have a degree of protection from the worst excesses of the official curriculum but at VCE level, it's limited as it is designed as a consistent qualification for all students. I'm confident my students are well equipped to be handle propaganda - I work to make sure they are but as somebody who works very hard not to impose his own beliefs on his students, it really annoys me when the official bodies make repeated attempts to do so.

(HSC mentioned in the article is the Higher School Certificate which serves the same purpose as Victoria's VCE in the state of New South Wales).

The “progressives” have worked very aggressively to take over the education system.

They have been remarkably effective.

Hitler was a vegetarian who supported the arts and architecture. He lived with his girlfriend for years before they got married and only married her when they were ready to commit suicide. He stood for education reform and got one of the leading thinkers in Germany (Martin Heidegger) to help with the process. Hitler promoted a close relationship between unions and the government. He believed in gun control. He believed in organic farming. He was pro-abortion. He sought to replace Christianity with a more native religion. He wanted to kill Jews.

How are any of things not progressive?

Hitler was put into power with serious amounts of cash from capitalists, European aristocrats and high ranking military who saw him as a counterattack on Russian bolshevism. (Anthony Sutton “Wall St. and the Rise of Hitler”). To take the line that Hitler was a socialist is a transparent attempt by historic revisionist with Nazi sympathies to keep conservatism safe for oligarhical control elements. Hitler was a fascist with a socialist label only, put there to gain the support of the Weimar German working class. As a fascist, he aligned with Mussolini and Franco, both of whom evolved into anti-communist dictators with the support of globalists who controlled conservatism as a route to a financier oligarch one world government. The political party lines blur at that altitude. Today you have globalists working on two seemingly opposite fronts to enact their global dictatorship- Left globalists using “climate change” to achieve a world government via the UN and Right globalists using the power of their financial empires to enact nation destroying trade treaties such as TPP. In cleaning out my mom’s stuff she had a Nazi pin that my dad got during the war somehow. I always thought that was cool growing up.

My successful older brother said - “Oh yeah - you can have that. It is cool, but it would be better in a republican family.”

He said it somewhat jokingly so I let it slide. Except he said it again a week later. “Um - you know the Nazi’s were socialists - right?”

I love him and we get along great. I just pass that off that in spite of him being a great guy and successful, he still has some learning to do.

Here is an essay by my colleague, Jon Jay Ray:

Hitler was a Socialist:

Hitler was a pretty mainstream leftist for his day. Racism and anti-semitism was very common on the left at the time.

The Left loved Hitler when he signed a pact with Stalin.

Hitler also admired Islam, because it awarded soldiers who died in battle.

While both Hitler and Mussolini were anti-Communists, they were not anti-socialists. In fact both shared a fundamental belief that what the State does not own it must control. In what world is that a Conservative or a(non-crony) Capitalist principle?

As Obama is again demonstrating, using crony-capitalists to gain power is a well established Socialist practice.

There is no right and left in fascism. Opposition and self examination are not allowed. There is only the state and you must conform or die. Whatever, they’re all just sniffing at power, handing out favors to elites on taxpayer expense, picking winners and losers. In general, just making ruin of our nation, culture and society. Making a mess to enrich themselves. They’re assholes.

The Communists were big state totalitarians.

The Nazis were big state totalitarians.

The Fascists were big state totalitarians.

Whenever they fought each other, they fought for the same reason that gangsters always fight each other - over turf.
