That is exactly when I broke up with Rush. When he couldn’t successfully defend the NYT charge that he did Schumer’s bidding behind our backs, while calling him Chuck U Schumer to our faces. He even dared call us haters. I was so hoping he’d come on the air that day and prove that the NYT was all lies. He did not and apparently could not. HE was caught in a lie but he came on with a nasty, defensive attitude. BOOM. Like Levin it was proof he’d been phony all along. Really sad. These guys meant a lot to us. They abused that trust. Hope the $ was worth it.
Sounds strikingly similar to what I described in post 69 with Levin. Rather than simply make a defense of themselves, on something that is sourced and extremely incriminating, they act just like a Democrat and rant and rave that they were somehow mistreated. I can possibly understand that response to trivial accusations, but for something that is being reported in the news that strikes at the core of their supposed character and persona, I believe they would have, or at least should have responded more factually if there wasn't some truth to it.
