Phyllis Schlafly, nicknamed the ‘iron lady’ of conservatism, has put in an official endorsement for John McCain’s primary challenger in Arizona.
In an audio recording exclusively obtained by Independent Journal Review, Schlafly announced:
“I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Kelli Ward for U.S. Senator from Arizona.”
Ward recently resigned from her duties in the Arizona state senate in order to focus on her campaign, and has been campaigning as an anti-establishment candidate against McCain, who has served in Congress since 1983.

The thing I see is that McCain is likely to just do two years...resign at the appropriate moment, and allow the governor Doug Ducey to appoint himself as Senator. I’m not anti-ducey, but you just question how the cards are stacked and how the lobbyists are playing the game in Arizona.
