What McAuliffe Probe Could Mean For 2016
CNN ^ | May 24, 2016 | Ryan Nobles

Posted on 05/25/2016 6:11:23 PM PDT by MarvinStinson

The revelation that Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is facing a federal investigation related to campaign donations could complicate Hillary Clinton's effort to win the state in November.

The ties between McAuliffe and the Clinton family run deep -- both personally and professionally. McAuliffe often refers to Bill Clinton as his best friend. He served as Clinton's handpicked chair of the Democratic National Committee. Hillary Clinton was an early and enthusiastic supporter of McAuliffe's run for governor in 2013.

Several of McAuliffe's key campaign staffers have graduated to the Clinton campaign..

McAuliffe has denied any wrongdoing and said "Investigations happen, no one's alleged any wrongdoing on my part."

McAuliffe's victory in Virginia did not come easy. He narrowly beat the Ken Cuccinelli, the state's attorney general, by less than 2 percentage points, despite outspending Cuccinelli by close to $18 million.

After McAuliffe eventually wonp, Bill and Hillary Clinton were standing right behind their friend -- arm-in-arm -- as the new governor was sworn in.

The ties between the McAuliffe campaign of 2013 and the Clinton campaign of 2016 are extensive. Clinton's campaign manager Robby Mook ran McAuliffe's successful campaign for governor. The attorney representing McAuliffe in this matter, Mark Elias, is also an attorney for the Clinton campaign. There are also several staffers on many levels working for Clinton that played key roles in the governor's 2013 race.

McAuliffe makes a Corkscrew look straight! I hope, as some are saying, that going after him is a shot across Hillary’s “bow.”

Fallout over McAuliffe investigation extends to Richmond mayor’s race

Richmond Times-Dispatch ^ | 5/25/16 | Ned Oliver

Posted on 5/25/2016, 8:56:14 PM by randita

The fallout over news of a federal investigation into Gov. Terry McAuliffe trickled down to the Richmond mayor’s race Wednesday with an attack on McAuliffe’s former aide and mayoral hopeful Levar Stoney.

Former state delegate Joseph D. Morrissey issued a statement calling on Stoney to reject “any campaign contributions from Governor McAuliffe or any of his contributors.”

Stoney stepped down from his position in McAuliffe’s cabinet to run for mayor, and his ties to the governor and his fundraising machine were widely understood to be one of his greatest assets going into the race. It’s not clear what impact, if any, the investigation into McAuliffe might have on Stoney.

I have heard, unsubstantiated, that (Chicago) Mayor Emanuel may be facing similar indictments.

Am hoping for 46 states in November.

ordinarily I’d say no, but since the shakeup over there, I’ve noticed that they’ve dialed it back to commie lite

We would be smart if we voted like him. Not voting like him means we are not smart.

Got it.

McAuliffe was always a Clinton “thug” and “fixer”. I’m looking forward to see him go to jail and have Ken Cuccinelli take his place as Governor.

Then we jail present Constitution perverter State’s Attorney General Mark Herring.

Time to clean up Virginia where the Democrats are a disease more painful than a jock rash.

I suspect the lame stream media has been given the word that Hitlery is on life support and they are to lay the ground work for her withdrawal and readying Biden or the Squaw's last minute drafting as their candidate.

Let us not forget who bought the Clinton’s house in Chappaqua, enabling them to establish residency in his home state so that the Missus could run for the U.S. Senate.

“It means nothing. He is of the protected class.”

Let me get this straight: freepers like you say, when ever something damning about HRC comes out, “The DOJ will never take action against her.” Now, when the DOJ is investigating McAuliffe, you argue, “Nothing will happen; he's protected.” I don't get it. Are you trolls? If you really think ALL these Dems are truly untouchable, why do you even follow these stories?

It's obvious that McAuliffe’s in trouble, as is HRC. Why not let yourself enjoy it a bit?
