And 90 % of the U.S. Jewish population will cheer wildly. Because Bernie is a communist and communism is the American Jewish True Religion. They love communism far more than they care for Israel.
Well, at least 2/3 or 70% of American “Jews” will vote for Bernie, absent something on the R side (maybe Mr. Trump may attract some of them)
The more traditional or faithful Jews tend to vote R more often, of course. They feel trapped... Jewish history teaches that the Jews’ biggest problem is schism ....where fractions of the J people go off chasing false gods (golden Calf, Baal, Roman citizenship like St. Paul, Greek culture like in Maccabees, and many would cite a wider range of Jews going off the traditiona path, too. You can fill in the elipses....(... ..) .... ha!
When one traditional rabbi in, I think, NY lost his cool and called some of the “liberal Jews” apostates, several of his fellow orthodoxy rabbis calmed him down and made him stop doing that... in fear of furthering the (obvious) schism between Jewish faith and “liberal” JINOs. The hope is, obviously, to try to bring the wayards leftists back closer to Biblical faith and values... through patient nurturing and quiet outreach, rather than open confrontation. IMHO, this effort does not appear to be succeeding very greatly, but there it is.

We see same sort of thing happening today in some Roman Catholic communities (think Nancy Pelosi, for example, advocating funding and defending mass-scale abortion on demand in direct contradiction of RCC teaching...and then actually lecturing the Pope about it, too!...) and “liberal” Protestant churches advocating all sorts of leftist and sometimes quite kooky political false gods instead of preaching and living a genuine Christian faith
it is a Jewish problem. It is a Catholic problem. It is a Protestant problem. Biblical faith and especially moral values... impose perceived (!) “burdens” that some folks can’t seem to cast off too fast....
I am at a loss to advise how to repair this...
