A lot of stupid lazy ignorant and messed up people do stuff that brings them disease and suffering, and someone else minding their own business has to be blamed.
It’s interesting that all this supposed social pressure isn’t stopping them from the destructive behavior. Also don’t we live in an age of greater permissiveness and acceptance? Gay marriage? Releasing druggies from prison? Guess the CDC missed those trends.
If conservative cultural attitudes were a dominant force antisocial behavior would be reduced. The CDC has it precisely backwards. It is the failure of homophobic attitudes that increases homosexual behavior. They (the CDC) are playing into an old stereotype that is no longer valid. The “South” is far more permissive than flyover country where HIV is being reduced.
HIV is a badge of honor in the queer community.
