You can't expect a bill, H. R. 8, designed to "modernize energy infrastructure, build a 21st century energy and manufacturing workforce, bolster America's energy security and diplomacy, and promote energy efficiency and government accountability, and for other purposes" to be held up over such a trivial thing as what someone is called, can you?

Besides, that's what "other purposes" are for, after all.

PS

Meng is literally from a family of thugs and criminals:

Daddy was a crooked politician and Baby Brudder is complicit in a murder

Just a bunch of bigots, low lifes, and thugs.

1000 black people shot since January in Chicago alone and the smartest Muslim in Kenya is after the white man for calling him "Negro".

What's wrong with Oriental?
It's an old word with lots of good connotations.
Just because some have used a word inappropriately does not mean we should censor all use, much less legislate such things.
Negro? It's just Portuguese for Black.
News Flash: Not all blacks are American. Or African. Therefore African-American is not a proper substitute.
Oriental and Asian does not mean the same thing either. Asia is a much larger region, a mindless word substitution will cause loss of distinction in the texts.

So they’ve lumped all native Alaskans together instead of referring to them by their ancestral lineage? How insensitive!

We better not use the word denigrate. And the French language is sexist. The language has masculine and feminine words. Spanish is also sexist as well as Italian.

Negro is out...?

Is ‘Colored People’ OK to use, or does it have to be reversed to ‘People of Color’?

People of WHICH Color? Black, I assume, but what about Brown? Red(skins)?

Yellow? Green, Blue, Orange...

Even Pink, Tan & ‘White’?

Do acceptable terms change yearly? Monthly? Daily? Based on barometric pressure & wind direction?

"... amended by striking `... Puerto Rican ... and inserting ` ... Puerto Rican..."

Yep. that should make all the difference.
