Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair has been indicted on charges of perjury and official misconduct.
Sheriff Blair was arrested shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday and was booked into the Marion County Jail. He has since posted bond and has been released on his own recognizance, said a spokesperson with the State Attorneys Office for the Fifth Judicial District.
Blair was indicted on allegations that he made false statements during an investigation into a case of excessive force by Marion County deputies. He faces two separate counts of perjury and one count of official misconduct, all third-degree felonies.

I should know more about this than I do. I live in Marion County, but, alas do not watch local news. The sheriff is being charged for some minor stuff, it seems to me.
Who knows? He’s charged with three felonies ...
Third degree felonies. He’ll probably plead down to zero and resign.
Yep.
Probable BS charges.
Perjury is NOT a minor crime. Ever.
For a police officer or anybody who may have to testify in court as part of their job, a perjury conviction is the end of the career.
Political witch hunt?
I’m down here near Brooksville, this is news to me also.
“For a police officer or anybody who may have to testify in court as part of their job, a perjury conviction is the end of the career.’
Except if you are an attorney in out Just Us Department today. Judge Hannen really whacked some peepees with his ruling on the lying that went on in his court on tha DACA DAPA lawsuit I just wished that he could end Loretta Lynch’ term as AG.
lynch will be gone when President Trump arrives, but with any luck he will order further discipline for the liars.
He could serve up to 5 years in prison on each count if convicted.
Cops and DAs will lie and never admit they’re wrong. DNA can prove a man innocent AFTER he’s been in prison for ten years and the cops and the DA will say “We got the right man.”
“Cops and DAs will lie and never admit theyre wrong. DNA can prove a man innocent AFTER hes been in prison for ten years and the cops and the DA will say We got the right man.”
DNA tests can, and have been falsified. As the late Dr. Earl R. Rich said, “If you torture the data long enough, and hard enough, it will always confess.”
Using multiple, and completely independent labs is therefore advisable.
Just sayin’.
If it can be “tortured” long enough one way, it can be “tortured” long enough the other way.
The problem I have with DNA is no everyday “joe” knows what the hell it is. They could call it TMA, or “thinkin’ Mud Acid” and all twelve jurors would convict because the world has been told that “thinkin’ mud acid” is the one piece of evidence that cannot be disputed.
“You found TMA? Guilty!”
