The main problem, as the elite sees it, with legalizing and normalizing pedophilia is that it will be more difficult to use it to blackmail ambitious politicians, media personalities etal once they are “out of the closet”.
Notice how Hillary won’t come out of the closet about her true sexual preferences.
They are playing head games with the media propaganda—the elite’s words claim they want equality but their actions say they want the blackmail to continue.
