DOYLESTOWN, Pa. At the Bucks County Democrats first meeting since the April 26 Pennsylvania primary, one worry dominated: Donald Trump had done better than expected in this blue-leaning exurban expanse north and east of Philadelphia.
At one polling place, these Democrats Republican neighbors nice people, nothing like the Trump supporters they had seen throw punches at protesters were proud enough to grab lawn signs.
It was stunning, said Stan Durey, 67, a former security analyst who works at a car dealership. I just stood there shaking my head, going, Really? It wasnt two, it wasnt three it must have been 20 or 30 people walking away with Trump signs. To me, thats an alarm bell.
Across the country, Trump has performed best in the sorts of places Democrats could afford to lose: landslides in Appalachia or in white counties of the deep South. To win the White House in November, he must extend his appeal to unlikely states and unlikely parts of those states. In one of those places the suburbs of Pennsylvania Trump is not as toxic as Democrats expected.

The MSM flashing more big red warning signs to the Democrats that TRUMP IS FOR REAL!
Well any suburbanite who votes democrat is an idiot to begin with. Unless, of course, they really don’t like suburban living and want to be herded into crowded cities, where they can be stacked on top of each other and controlled.
But hey, if Trump is getting them to wake up, then it’s all good.
But, is there a breakdown of the people who have voted in the primaries for Bernie and Hillary? I get the impression that a majority of Hillary's supporters are Minorities.
Bernie's supporters are urban white liberals, and college students.
All my leftist relatives, and childhood friends support Bernie...and despise Hillary. I can't imagine them voting for Hillary, but will probably support some 3rd party candidate.
If you can get Bernie to split into a third party or write-in, Trump will win every state and the Democrat down-ticket will be decimated.
Trump’s message resonates strongly with both affluent and blue-collar suburbanites. Both groups have been devastated by corporate downsizing and frozen wages. The Democrat message of more welfare and food stamps do not appeal to these people. These people want to work!
In one of those places the suburbs of Pennsylvania Trump is not as toxic as Democrats expected.
And this could be our secret weapon in this election. The liberal elitists of the upper west side and Berkeley and such places, in their thought processes, it is inconceivable that any well educated, thoughtful, or Democrat voter, could ever support Trump.
That’s part of why we see the stereotype of Trump appealing to low income working class whites, depictions of racism, etc. These liberal elite types, who think they are so brilliant, and talk only to each other, can’t conceive of anyone with any intelligence or sophistication voting for Trump.
Don’t underestimate the backlash against Obama’s new HUD policies that are going to force Section 8 ferals into your tidy suburban neighborhood. That is YUGE!
Liberals have happily and deliberately run roughshod over culture for the past seven years and practically destroyed our social cohesion. Our country has become a train wreck. Its no wonder that people are supporting someone who wants to make the country great again. Its a visceral and angry reaction to the disastrous effects of liberalism and the PC mindset that is destroying us.
Wow, they don't match the media narrative that says if a violent leftist agitator gets in your face and starts shoving you, you're the problem? Huh. It's almost as if it was .... manufactured.
That HUD announcement needs to get more play. The whole reason for suburban living is to get away from HUD denizens. And for most suburbanites, it’s to keep the feral spawn out of their kids’ schools!
Still trending blue. The GOP is cyanotic.
“...nice people, nothing like the Trump supporters they had seen throw punches at protesters”
The Compost still preaching lies. The violence at the Trump rallies are from Bernie people and George Soros hired goons.
Obama won just 13 of 67 Pennsylvania counties four years ago, but his margins in Philadelphia and its suburban sprawl, including Bucks, Delaware and Montgomery counties, overwhelmed the Republican vote in its rural strongholds.
I know many people just like this. 50-60 year old regular working men -- tradesmen, mechanics, retired, etc. In a way, looking back, they probably weren't wrong to skip voting all this time.
And they are serious. Like, already registered and can't wait to vote for Trump. And oh by the way, this is in New Jersey.
Complete lies, in fact the other way around.
Yep. We have GOT to be a strong and numerous presence at suspect polling sites in November.
I’ve been saying since last Summer that Trump would appeal to the Philly suburbs. Add in the coal industry in Southwestern PA and Hillary will have to fight hard to defend a traditionally blue state.
Seeing the same thing in Ohio with the suburbs of Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Throw in the hard hit coal region of Southeastern Ohio and Hillary has a nightmare of epic proportions.
She has already lost WV and KY in the general because of her asinine comments on coal. The hubris and arrogance in making those statements shows how politically stupid she truly is.

The overwhelming violence is the protesters attacking Trump supporters. Unfortunately, there is at least one very well documented and video taped occurrence of an older, white Trump supporter sucker-punching a younger, black protester as he is led from a rally by security staff.
Hillary will replay that video until the cows come home. That old fart didn’t do our side any favors.
Trump won EVERY SINGLE COUNTY in PA, and most weren’t even close. Even if it was only a republican primary, I’d say that is significant.
I believe Trump has the ability to put a lot of democrat states into play. I heard yesterday that Trump has named campaign chairmen and opened offices in 17 usually democrat states, including Minnesota.
