This would have been the case if Cruz stayed in as well because he was such a terrible candidate. Lying Ted was going to roll into Cleveland with about 600 delegates and less than half of what Trump had because he only appeals to a niche group of supporters like Rand/Ron Paul.
Trump reaching the majority threshold was never really in doubt except for the media narrative from record setting opposition that failed miserably.
