This is another “Target” situation.
Ben & Jerry’s is owned by Unilever, one of the largest food corporations in the world.
Like Target selling cheap plastic stuff from China, B&J’s sell “ice cream,” a common commodity, into a crowded market. So their marketing angle is, like Target, to grasp the hipster/progressive mode, and use it for cheap, cynical, money-making purposes.
Until now, they have not paid for the high risk of this marketing ploy. Target has learned - when you play with dynamite, it can explode in your face.
They’ve “paid” at least in this household. Used to love Cherry Garcia, then learned of these jerkovs politics
That was the end of that
Guess no one called them yet on being corporate sell outs. They sold the company for big bucks to Unilever and are not in charge anymore.
