Look up the photograph of Conrad Heyer and you’ll see a man that was born when Thomas Jefferson was six years old...
The photo was taken when he was 103...I’ve seen 80 year olds with more wrinkles. He looks really good. Amazing to think that he fought with George Washington in the Revolutionary War and lived long enough to have a photo taken.
Don’t say that! I would have given everything I have including my life to have had my husband with me still! Some of us experience Real True Love!!!
As do I. It was only a joke.
I thought the exact same thing!
I don't think they do. The EU has considerably different treatment for eggs than the US. For instance, they usually don't refrigerate them, and it's illegal for the producers to wash them. In the US, eggs are usually refrigerated, and the producers are required to wash them. The theory in the EU is that washing the eggs makes the shells more permeable to bacteria. Go figure.
It’s not so much the eggs but the daily shot of brandy or amaretto. I read in another article.
It does. Washing eggs removes the waxy bloom that is there naturally which keeps the eggs fresh enough to stay bacteria-free and good without refrigeration through the development of the chick, which takes about 21 days at high temperatures- a bird’s body temp, after all, is about 106, give or take a degree. The eggs have bloom on the shells whether fertilized or not.
Once washed the eggs MUST be refrigerated.
The storage life of refrigerated washed eggs is quite short.
Refrigerated unwashed eggs will last a lot longer.
