A member of the House Armed Services Committee says America has only gotten part of the story on Iran's kidnapping of a group of U.S. sailors earlier this year.
Ten U.S. Navy sailors were taken into custody by the Islamic Republic on January 12, 2016, after the group strayed into Iranian waters off Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.
The group were held by the Iranians for 15 hours and subsequently released. In a move to embarrass the sailors, the Iranian government also released videos showing the men and one woman being taken into custody.
Another video shows one of the commanding lieutenants apologizing for crossing into Iranian waters. Rep Randy Forbes, a Republican congressman from Virginia, says he has read the full dossier on the incident and he says there's many more details that will shock America. The full report on the incident has not been released by the Obama administration, and Forbes says it may take a year or longer for the report to be made public.
When it is eventually made public, Forbes says it could cause uproar and heavy criticism of the Obama administration.
'I think that when the details actually come out, most Americans are going to be kind of taken aback by the entire incident, both how Iran handled it and how we handled it,' Forbes said in an interview with the Washington Free Beacon. 'I think that's going to be huge cause for concern for most Americans. That's why I've encouraged members of Congress to get that briefing so they do know exactly what did take place.'

Why do we need to wait a year or more for the report? The Navy has already cashiered the commander in charge of the unit.
Something that has bothered me from the start on this incident is how a U.S. Navy boat crew could possibly make such a navigational error as they did in this day of GPS navigation.
Unless, the Iranians somehow developed the capability to jam GPS signals, or this U.S. Navy crew was untrained to an almost unbelievable level.
