Possibly the greatest movie of the 20th Century. My only beef is the “letters of transit signed by De Gaulle.” If they’d just said Marshall Petain, it would have been perfect.

It certainly does have special effects. Quite a few model shots. The people by the plane at the end are actually midgets to make the small model plane look large.
