That polls show the American people understand that
the Second Amendment means private gun ownership is
really only important in a political sense to me. Polls
do not settle the Constitution. My faith is in the
words of Founding Fathers like James Madison who
actually gloats about private ownership of guns by
Americans in The Federalist #46. Clearly, Americans who
already owned guns could form militias rather than
organized militias having access to guns.
i bump what you said, and would add that it isn’t just the polls showing that Americans understand the 2nd amendment. Gun sales show it too!
