Who Will Be Trump's, Clinton's Vice President?
NPR ^ | May 14, 2016 | Mara Liasson

The two most important criteria are always the same:

1. Pick someone who's would ready to be president, if necessary, and
2. DO NO HARM

He's said he'd like someone with political and legislative experience to help him deal with congress, and he's also said he'd consider some of his former rivals...

1. Former opponents

Both Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal have endorsed Trump. Both are former governors. But Trump will probably win Texas and Louisiana without them...

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was one of Trump's earliest establishment endorsers.. If being an attack dog is a top requirement for a VP candidate then Christie's evisceration of Marco Rubio is a qualification/ recommendation. Then again, Trump usually takes care of those duties himself.

John Kasich, Ted Cruz and Rubio all fit Trump's criteria, though Rubio has ruled it out, and it's hard to see Kasich or Cruz on the ticket after their previous brutal fights with Trump...

2. Members of Congress — current and former

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich knows something about running against the establishment. He's made it clear he'd be happy to be on the ticket...

I think The Donald will go with Chris Christie.

Hitlery will go with Sean Penn.

Newt, Christie, Perry. in that order. The rest of them can take a long walk off a short pier.

...Christie...The "Bridgegate" farce/scandal has been showing it's ugly head again here in Jersey over the last couple of weeks - will or won't a judge release the names of "unindicted co-conspirators" is the favorite game of the press these days - the usual leftist gambit of raising any sort of real or made-up dirt to slow down and damage anyone they don't like - my guess is that Christie will be too hot to handle until after the election.....

Newt is in his mid 70s. Zero’s Cuddle Buddy Crispy is a no-go. And as for La Raza Rick, the RINO King of Texas... that’s a big HELL, NO !

I used to think Kasich, because of OH.

But I now think Trump can win OH without Kasich.

So now I like Newt.

If Trump is smart he will pick a guy like Cruz that can rally conservatives.

Sorry....I think Cruz has stalemated his career. He'll wind up taking a judgeship after he loses his Senate seat to another Republican.

Or he can be an attorney for his wife's firm. IIRC, she only took a leave of absence.

Yup. The two of them overwhelmingly carried the primary vote. Time to unite and on to victory over the Butcheress of Benghazi !

What other Republican is he going to lose to ? The only place he gets challenged is from the left. Do you want another Cornyn or Dew-Crist in his seat ?

Newt Gingrich’s name is being bandied about.....but I say he’d make a great COS.

Newt once addressed Hollywood’s conservative “Wednesday Morning Club”...introduced by actor Kurt Russell.

Kurt was brought up as a Republican and is a card-carrying member of the NRA.

Kurt’s dad Bing is an actor-—played the deputy sheriff on Bonanza.

Someone like Newt....Sessions....but I don't know a lot about him.

Perry will be in charge of making sure the wall is high enough. :-)

Newt will be an advisor.

Christie for AG

If Hillary chooses Bernie, I don't think we can win. If she chooses Warren, I think we could still potentially win, but it would be a close shave.

She chooses anyone else, and Trump wins, if indeed any Republican can win at all.

I have maintained Hillary will offer Sanders to VP slot with a promise he will have wide ranging power to investigate and target Wall Street...

I think he will take it....74 years old...only and last chance to make his mark

I think he would jump at it...

I think many of his bernouts will hold their nose and vote Clinton...
