I was chatting on Facebook with my brother-in-law about Christian attitudes towards moslems, when a lady I’ve known for some years busted in on the conversation. We were stationed together in Havana in 1993-1995, and were good friends. She is now a member of the Senior Foreign Service (policy-making level). She called me “stupid.” I knew she was a flaming leftist even back then. It’s pretty sad when two old friends can’t have a civil conversation without reverting to name-calling. Neither of them have ever spent any time in Southwest Asia (as I have, years in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran). I haven’t heard from either of them since.
