Exactly...he didn’t “trot” up there with his hat in hand...He didn’t go to reassure them that he wasn’t going to do anything to hurt them...He went there, as I said in different words, to let them know what he was going to do and they needed to help, not hinder...
My guess is that it a was a polite, subtle warning...
