'We could have been there': Squadron member speaks out on stalled Benghazi response
Fox News.com ^ | May 12, 2016 | Adam Housley

His squadron got the alert: a “real world mission was going down.”

The team – at Aviano Air Base in northeastern Italy – raced to the field and was briefed, as planes were armed and prepared to launch. Hundreds of miles away, fellow Americans were under attack in Benghazi.

"There were people everywhere. That flight line was full of people, and we were all ready to go” to Benghazi, he said.

Only they were waiting for the order. It never came.

“The whole night we were told that we are waiting on a call,” he told Fox News.

This account is from a squadron member at Aviano the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, terror attack in Benghazi. The source, the first in his squadron to speak out publicly since that attack, is going public to explain – in his view – that more could have been done to save Americans under attack that night.

He asked that his identity be protected for fear of retribution. He says others in his squadron also have wanted to talk about Benghazi from the beginning, but no others have been interviewed and all are afraid of the potential backlash from speaking out.

This doesn't bother democrats. I heard one democrat say,
"If there was more to this story don't you think the media would report it? They make money from stories like this. "

Off course it doesn’t, and it should surprise no one

Few things have enraged me more than this disgusting affair. The rage peaks when I hear Patricia Smith and the relatives of those brave men talk about how they were lied to, by Her Filthiness. All these hurting families (and maybe Mike, interviewed in the clip) should be on a podium with Trump, to tell America how they were used and abused by Rodham and Rice.

Sure we could have stopped our Ambassador from being raped and murdered, but then the weapons wouldn’t have ended up in Syria with plausible deniability, and Putin would have put our executive branch on trial, or justifiably declaring war on US.

I served at Aviano AB from 2008-2010 as an F-16 crew chief, and have wondered about this for a while. I’m sure that embedded in our Status of Forces Agreement, are provisions for emergencies such as this that would allow us to take off at any hour day or night. I have faith in my fellow maintainers and load crew members that they could have gotten those jets loaded, re-configured, and operationally checked in record time. But refueling, where would they have gotten a tanker, or set up a hot pit for refuel?

The one thing that bothered me about 13 Hours were the two shots of Aviano, particularly when the jets were shown “put to bed”. Flight lines are like 7/11, a 24 hour operation never really closed, except for weekends (rarely) and holidays. On a Tuesday night, there would have been a lot of people getting the jets ready for the next days flying.

the entire nation is afraid of saying anything to disparage the current democrats running this hell hole of a nation politically. they are afraid if the false christian, black homo muzzie is criticized that the inner cities will riot and revolt.

It’s a realistic danger.

Of course people were ready.

29 men came out of Benghazi. They are under threat to speak out. Kerry went to visit one of them in Walter Reed the next March, which tells us what happened to some of them. The fighting had to have been hand to hand.

Two men bled out over 50 cals. there in Benghazi. One man lased the target on the roof, waiting for help, in the dark, until he died.

That image haunts me to this day.

I served as a Weapons Loader at Torrejon AB, Spain and responded with a skeleton crew on a Sunday afternoon for a threat to our base, Wheelus” in Libya at the time. We had F-100D’s cocked and ready within 1 1/2 hours to defend that base! And this was in the sixty's just before Qaddafi took over.

The media cover stories that help liberals win elections. They would NOT cover this unless forced.

Any reporter can take out a flight schedule and see a soldier from CentCom could have booked a COMMERCIAL FLIGHT out of Tampa Florida and gotten to Benghazi in time to assist with the fight...(well, if he didn’t have to go through TSA messes...)

For the life of me I can’t understand how these 29 men can be silenced. Not one of them will tell the world the true story?

Obamas explanation, flying jets causes global warming. Except his jet, Michelle's, Kerry's, a few others. Didn't want to cause global warming, the administration has explained global warming causes terrorism. As good an explanation for political cowardace as a movie.

More and more of the Obama Administration’s lies are being disproved.

The question now is,

“Why didn’t our forces go?”

It looks like this was a civilian leadership decision.

Why did they stop our military?

Who made the decision to stop the military?

There is discussion that Hillary Clinton stopped the military. How could she? The Secretary of State doesn’t control the military. And if she was intentionally screwing things up, well.....why?

Why did Hillary intentionally screw up the military response for Benghazi?

George Soros had his girl Hillary get the United States involved in overthrowing the government of Libya.

Why?

Our liberal neighbor asked my husband why he was upset about Benghazi. When my husband told him those men were abandoned- just left to die he still didn’t get it. Then he had to leave our house because even a dumb liberal knows when they have pushed someone over the line. The liberal never did get it though, I guess in their mind it is ok to leave people to die when you could help them.
