Britain’s 90-year-old monarch has made a rare foray into political affairs, being caught on film characterizing Chinese officials as “very rude” in their dealings with British counterparts during a state visit last year.
Queen Elizabeth II made the unguarded comments Tuesday while talking to a senior police officer at a rain-soaked garden party on the grounds of Buckingham Palace.
With uncharacteristic bluntness — rarely if ever heard in public — the queen said the Chinese had not dealt properly with Barbara Woodward, the British envoy to China.

You can tell just by looking at photos of her, that she doesn’t suffer fools or lapses in good manners, lightly.
Good for Elizabeth. In my opinion, at 90, she has a right to say whatever she wants, and screw the media and anyone else.

I have no use for royalty (being an American and all) but have to give a kudo to the Queen. She’s holding onto the throne like grim death having realized what a loser her boy Charles is and denying him becoming King. I remember as a kid all the press saying what a good looking catch he was, blah, blah, blah.
I saw that movie in a theater in England. You could tell who the Americans were, we were the only ones laughing.
