Ross Perot has a lot to answer for. He’s the direct reason we’re in the mess we’re in.

Perot and Pat Buchanan were early warning systems highlighting sizeable groups of voters whose needs were not being addressed by the two parties.
The warnings were unheeded, and Trump has attributes of both of them with his own special seasoning thrown in for good measure.

I’d still vote for Perot over “read my lips” any day of the week.
That one line, that one promise is what killed H. It destroyed him. He based his campaign on ONE promise, and it cost him a re-election.
Bushes and the neocons are the reason the GOP is crumbling, not Perot.
Just don’t tell that to Bill Kristol...

GHW Bush ran one of the worst reelection campaigns in history. He didn't even act like he wanted to be reelected until a couple of weeks before the election. He even admitted to a reporter a couple of week after his defeat that 'he thought he would win because he was the incumbent.'
Perot may have syphoned off some votes, but Bush was fully responsible for his own demise.
