Ted Cruz Coalition Want Bathroom Laws In Republican Party Platform
Conservative Treehouse ^ | May 9, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 05/10/2016 11:24:56 AM PDT by detective

This story is an example why the republican party consistently loses against the progressive left. In response to the ridiculous, albeit recent, NC bathroom laws (which the MSM are having fun bashing conservatives on the head with) the Ted Cruz constituency wants to write bathroom laws into the 2016 republican party platform.

Yes, yes, unfortunately – that’s the modern right-wing cultural GOPe. Look over there, shiny thing, shiny thing… quick, go chase it….. quick make a law to control it…. bathrooms, gays, transgenders… oh noes, the humanity !

The last sentence in the article reflects what I have been thinking for a while.

"I’ve come to the conclusion the GOPe actually meets behind mahogany doors and picks out things -intentionally- to make issues out of, and give the republican party the public appearance of insane nuttery. I’ve come to believe they do this on purpose as part of the construct of the UniParty…. there can be no other reasonable explanation."

I agree with that...

This is NOT a civil situation...this is a STATE situation and if N.C. or any other STATE doesn't want it, that's up to THEIR voters...

The Government in Washington D.C. does NOT run this Country, this Country is run By the People, For the People and Of the People...

I suggest that Mr. Cruz, having told us many times that he is a Constitutional Lawyer and smarter than anyone else in the World needs to re read what the laws of this Country are, and he might begin with NATURAL BORN CITIZEN first...

Put it in.
But what difference does it make.

The GOP controlled house and senate won’t even pass a symbolic
Bill and send it to the Presidents desk.

So to what purpose does it serve other than making One feel better?

Now, now, you know that in late 2019 they'll try so that in 2020 they can campaign on having "worked hard for you".

Of course, if there's a chance in Hell that it will pass, they'll add a few things to the same bill to ensure that it gets vetoed but come on, at least they'll try.

They can try right now in the house and senate.
Cruz can introduce a bill in the senate right now.

Because this is central to all Americans, and will bring in lots of crossover votes, and Felito found it in the toilet clause of the Constitution, scholar that he is.

These people are spoilers, and know it.

I haven’t followed the bathroom legislation closely because it seems the farthest thing that needs government intrusion, but maybe it does.

I’ve never read of a transgender person being harassed in a bathroom. I’ve never read of an ordinary person being harassed by a transgender in a bathroom.

My opinion is that a transgender person should go to the restroom where he/she is least likely to cause a disturbance, regardless of what’s between their legs. No one has to expose themselves at all in a restroom.

Please, someone tell me where there was an actual problem. I’m not close minded. Maybe we need pictures of transgenders that might bother someone in a restroom.

The GOP doesn’t want to fight for individual liberty, it wants to pretend it is a church.

The transgender advocates are engaged in a war on women, this must be stressed. They are denying a woman’s right to privacy in restroom, change room and locker room.

I have never been more proud to be a North Carolinian than now. Stand tall NC Legislature and Gov. Pat!!!!

Ted Cruz might actually make some friends and accomplish something if he had as a goal to support State’s Rights for endeavors that aren’t covered by the Constitution. To frame it as potty laws doesn’t really address the problem we face, of an out-of-control federal government enabled by an out-of-control judiciary.

They could have sent a bill to repeal BarryCare to the Prez once a week, too, but they didn't.

They could have passed a bill to defund Planned Parenthood once a week, too, but (somehow) never got around to that, either.

Same thing with a bill to delegitimize "sanctuary cities" for illegal immigrants, as well.

Oh, but they're all fiercely committed "principled conservatives," gosh darn it.

Just ask them!

Teddy's mortally certain that this is what's taking place within helpless, blameless public restrooms across the length and breadth of America:
