People should be able to protest, but when it involves taking over government offices or establishments, it has crossed the line.

Civil disobedience is not civil.

Get a permit. Conduct your starvation diet in a park, or someone’s home.

Don’t try to commandeer public property to get your point across.

There are too many protests, and you can’t simply stop the government from operating.

Didn’t say. Weird.

Other sources say the “protesters” are alleging “systematic racism” at the SFPD.

These days, I almost wish the entire department were all clones of Dirty Harry Callaghan.

The Mission District cops are CORRUPT AS HELL, but....their reasons for having it in for the chief seem like the standard lefty agitator BS:

This ‘60s redux will be gone when Obama is gone.

The protest crowd everywhere is getting in their last licks before sanity returns to America.

Hopefully returns, I mean.

Why do they want him fired?

Because he knows the difference between right and wrong.

"Because he knows the difference between right and wrong."

Knowing that could get you fired in San Francisco.

What happens to these people once arrested, whether in San Francisco, or Seattle, or New York, or wherever? Do they suffer any punishment at all, or do they walk free because they are "prisoners of conscience" and wind up adjudicated in some Liberal big city municipal court where the judges are ideologically sympathetic?

Seems to me some stiff fines and/or lengthy vacations in a county lockup might change some behaviors. But, then, I am a Fascist so-and-so who loathes these kinds of going ons, so what do I know?

They walk. Bailed out the same day by Soros bail out fund and charges are dropped weeks later. It’s a game that only leftist are allowed to play.

It is probably the most liberal department in the US, but that never satisfies the left.

From the Christian Science Monitor: “In January, Chief Suhr announced all police would annually pledge to avoid hate, bigotry, and intolerance and report any instances they encountered.”

So, the department genuflected to the left, and of course it wasn’t enough. Crime is very bad up there because police are afraid to arrest anyone. Even the lefty residents up there are complaining about the epidemic of burglaries (while wondering what they did to deserve it).

Bottom line: Left fighting for total surrender of department to the Marxists who run the place.

33 Arrested Following Violent Clash Between SF Hunger Strike Supporters, Sheriff's Deputies

The bad news?

The protest left City Hall with smashed front windows and destroyed metal detectors, at the side facing Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place.

"Thousands of peaceful individuals have long expressed their views in protest on our front steps," City Administrator Naomi Kelly said in a statement. "However, yesterday's actions crossed the line, causing thousands of dollars in property damage and impacting weddings and elections activities."

The good news? At least these weren't those violent, dangerous Tea Partiers or Trump supporters.

I remember a recent protest where citizens took over an unoccupied federal building. There were no threats or violence directed at law enforcement yet one of the protestors was killed and the rest are in jail with no bond facing decades in prison.
