let the ethnic community have deaths then....their children for example, if that's what they want...
me?...I'd like my children protected from drunk drivers....

....but that policy offends me, so now they have a conundrum. OTOH, I’m a white Christian heterosexual male, so my offense probably counts as a benefit.

This is too much. The left is just bowing down in submission to anyone who is not a normal American.

Where I live, drunk driving by Hispanic males seems to be a part of their culture. Huge percentage of drunk driving arrests and accidents come from Hispanic males.

We live in California.....and don’t go anywhere near a restaurant of any kind on May 5th. It seems like every single restaurant here, regardless of type, has Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

Huge percentage of drunk driving arrests and accidents come from Hispanic males. But don't you see.....
An enlightened, progessive policy like this would significantly reduce the number of drunk driving arrests?

The vanquished certainly cannot arrest their conquerors.

I have a couple of thoughts about this.
One: I wonder if they will cancel DUI checkpoints on
Juneteenth weekend. or St Patrick’s Day.
Two: I guess anyone killed by drunk driver this week is just more collateral damage in the PC wars.

I don’t support these what I deem to be illegal check points.
We have now checkpoints for dui, drugs, aside from the constitutional ones near the border for immigration purposes (well we used to) and agricultural ones too. Why not also put up some felon, tax avoidance, insurance coverage, inland immigration status, kidnapping, stolen car, etc ones too? It is getting to that IMO because we have become so unhinged from the bill of rights to be laughable. We have seizures of property without court actions now, condemnations, 2A removals etc. I guess next we will have gestapo block watchers too.

Are they going to do that in Boston for St. Patrick’s Day?

DUI checkpoints happen on NYE, St. Patty's Day, Memorial Day weekends, Labor Day weekends and other "holidays" when drinking and driving coincide.
OPD screwed the pooch on this one. The perpetually aggrieved just whine more and more, since they refuse to be responsible for their own poor decisions.

BS, they didn’t want the headache of making tons of drunk driving arrests of probably mostly residents or illegals causing a criminal statistic in that community to be held noticeable and maybe somewhat accountable.

I'll tell this story again:
I know a number of Mexican-Americans and these guys are, of course, quite immersed in the illegal alien community as well. Therefore, I know a few illegals. One of the illegals was stopped by a cop for drunk driving (and he WAS drunk). When the cop realized he was illegal, he sighed and asked one of the passengers (who spoke English) if he could drive. The passenger said "yes" despite being 15 years old at the time (I'm not sure if the cop bothered to check for a driver's license). The cop said OK, and away they went. No charge, no ticket, no nothing.
Illegals have more rights than citizens.

Yup check the DUI police log and a great number of the DUI’s will be Mexican names.
