If we shut off federal and state welfare benefits to these illegals it would definitely slice a point or two off of the GDP.
That tells you the folly of the GDP calculation rather than the size of the actual productive economy.
Balance the federal budget, and watch the GDP fall 20%.
Are we really saying that deficit-funded “growth” is real?
That growth is paid for by an increasing debt we will pay on forever ... and never pay off.
