Somehow I don’t think the big boys, the cronies to both parties are going to pay that tax. This tax is for me and you!

If they start charging me to USE our savings I’ll pull every darn dime out and keep cash.

Haven't you heard that the politicians and the bankers are now wanting to ban cash? Google it. Once they ban cash, there is no escape, except for jewelry (which is not liquid), precious metals, or cryptocurrencies

Actually, gemstones are much better than PMs. Excepting fungibility, gems are easier to transport and use. Their value is not as volatile as PMs, and various sizes can be used for denomination. They also can’t be tracked by metal detectors.

This will be for the upper middle class or those making a couple million or less a year. The big boys like Romney and Buffet making their money not through income but capital gains etc... will continue to pay the lower tax rate.

The way to get rid of all this cheating is a flat tax across the board with a mortgage deduction and charitable deduction up to a certain point. Never happen, too many congress scum bought and paid for...

Rates are not going to go negative on loans provided to the proletariat get real. The only negative rates you will see is against your savings. Then they will stop printing greenbacks so hoarding will be stymied. All transactions will become electronic.

Well you may be right about dollars, but such a move would spell the end of the greenback as the world’s currency.

Bitcoin or some other player would then quickly gain favor, and the US would complete it’s slide into a deeper hole than Japan currently finds itself in.

Still, I’ve seen worse brain-dead moves, so it won’t surprise me if it turns out you’re right...
