That’s most likely because he made his projection based on the federal employment numbers (overstated) and federal unemployment numbers (understated). Sorry, sucker.
We all knew this was going to happen. His projections are all based on near constant 4-5% growth. The idea that the growth they’ve had under a goosed fed policy was forever was ridiculous. They never really left the hole they had dug. They just made it manageable.

No sweat. They just raised the minimum wage there, so the income tax receipts from all those extra wages are going to start rolling in. The biggest problem for the government of California will be figuring out how to spend it all, there is going to be so much. Even if they set a bunch aside for some sort of emergency. Like, I don’t know, water or something.
