IF Sheriff Joe was up for it (thinking about his age, although he does seem to be in real good health), I’d love to see him nominated by President Trump as the next director of the FBI.

I agree, I love his no nonsense approach.

He's a sheriff. A sheriff's main job is running prisons and transporting prisoners from point to point. That is why he can make his prisoners wear pink underwear. However, he is not even remotely qualified to be FBI Director. As much as I admire him, I don't let my emotions direct my thoughts.

FBI directors have law degrees for obvious reasons, worked in private law practice, have been prosecutors; some have had experience as law clerks and meaningful experience in the Justice Department.

Sheriff Joe makes sure the Maricopa county prisons serve breakfast at 7 am. Perhaps you don't understand the duties of a sheriff, but now you know.

There is a world of difference between Sheriff Joe (who I think is terrific) and those who are qualified to be FBI Directors.

I wish we had more no nonsense people like Joe. I think he was a police officer and even a federal agent of some sort, but no law degree or prosecutorial experience disqualifies him.
