But at the Trump rallies the protestors were claiming that California is Mexico. Mexico does not have a Medi-Cal (Medicaid) program. I say let's give them what they are asking for.

Two countries ruined by Mexico. Wanna try for a third? Hey Canada are you watching all of this because you’re next on their list for countries for them to invade and ruin.

These people will be amazed when they find out that “coverage” doesn’t necessarily translate into actual heath care at all. It would appear that California wants its taxpayers to become Mexcio’s doctor.

Already a quarter of a trillion in debt in CA pensions alone and Democrat loons dangle a new carrot on the stick for illegals to come over.

‘Immigration status’ is not as mundane a thing as a ticket for the queue at the deli.

If you are a Mexican national, then you have a native country with its own sovereign government. If that government is corrupt or unable/unwilling to provide medical care, that is between you and the Mexican government regardless of where you happened to sleep last night.

Youth is not a universal pass entitling the young to the efforts and goods of others; indeed, a young person is almost always healthier than an older one and therefore capable of traveling to a place where he may petition his own government and compatriots for that which he seeks.

"more docs needed"

The problem with promising everyone in third grade a free pony is that there aren't enough ponies and even if there were enough ponies, there isn't enough money in the class treasury to pay for even one pony, never mind ponies for everybody.

This lesson should have been learned in third-grade politics.

If the payer either does not pay or short pays the doctors, guess what they will find someone else to work for to receive the correct level of payment. This may be in the health field or outside of the health field.

I don’t suppose Brown would station ICE at the doors of every clinic and hospital throughout the state.

This is the beginning of the most insidious part of the ACA. Since the ACA took over the student loan system students are now indebted to the federal govt not a bank. It won’t be long before the feds say, “Work in the slums of LA (Chicago, Detroit, NY, etc) as a doctor (teacher, social worker, etc) and we’ll forgive your loans. If you don’t we’re calling it in now.”

The whole emphasis on health insurance is completely misleading. Insurance does not provide or guarantee health coverage. Insurance was conceived for one purpose... to protect assets in the case of unexpected losses. If a child comes from a family with essentially no assets there is no real need for insurance. Because, basically no one is denied medical care in this country because they do not have the ability to pay. It is a myth that they do.

I am a big Trump fan, but every time he goes into his spiel about how we can’t have people dying in the streets because they don’t have insurance, I cringe because it just doesn’t work that way. I spent 25 years hauling people off the streets to the hospital. We had one man who lived on the streets of our town who amassed over $2 million dollars in ambulance and hospital bills. We picked him up several times a day in some cases. He was an alcoholic and had drug problems, he was often too drunk to walk, sometimes he would fake seizures, sometimes they were real. He liked being taken care of at the hospital. Our protocol would not allow us to leave him on the street, or near the street.

Because of the way my retirement benefits are set up, I am forced to spend $140 on vision and dental coverage. It is a waste of money. It would be much cheaper for me to purchase these services with cash, but if I don’t buy the insurance, I don’t get reimbursed, the money just goes away. I would rather put it in a health savings plan, but that is not an option for me.

This so blithely ignores even high school economics that it is almost comic. It comes across as a fairy tale, one involving spinning wheels that spin gold from flax, magical treasure chests that spontaneously refill themselves when emptied, and a greedy Republican billionaire named Smaug who keeps a giant heap of gold in his environmentally insensitive mountain stronghold, which he refuses to share.

And, as a modern twist, the cloning of tens of thousands of fully trained Medical Doctors, all of whom work for free, and poop expensive pharmaceutical drugs.

The best part is that it won’t cost anything. In fact it will save so much money that they can double their state budget to spend on stuff they whimsically want.
