The story says that the boy was petting the dogs when the trouble started.No mention of the dogs after that.The family needs to upgrade their dogs,Good dogs would be right in the middle of the fight.

Dat true but what can you expect from Bassett Hounds: they are great for hunting down perps or treeing coons but not so good acting vicious. They are lovers, not fighters!

That’s what I was thinking. A good dog would have already ripped the legs off the meth head long before the kid could fire the first shot. A good dog wouldn’t have allowed anyone onto the property without warning and certainly not into the house.
