They made a serious mistake in policy and they’re paying for it.

Walmart stock went down the tranny toilet at the same time so I don’t know if this drop is all about that issue. I hope it is. It’s real easy to boycott Target. It’s basically Walmart with higher prices. And they don’t have my vanilla Coke.
I’d boycott, but they’d never know it. It is like me boycotting Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Striesand, or the Dixie Chicks. How would they know?
Would someone kindly repost the link to the boycott page? I signed it but my wife said she would like to sign it too. And let me tell you, if my wife refuses to shop there, they are going to take a hit. :)

Complete delusionary nonsense and measurably so. Anyone who thinks this is true should really examine instead how gullible and vulnerable to groupthink they are. Then they would potentially be learning something. About themselves.
TGT reports May 18th. So this drop in their stock price is supposed to be deteriorated earnings impacted from a week or so old boycott? Uh huh. With the most sophisticated point of sale software available integrated across their entire system of stores, TGT could *MAYBE* detect an impact from this boycott. Maybe. But they could not detect a trend because the impact is so new.
Microsoft fell from 56.5 to 50 this past week, over 10%. Did they invoke such bathroom policies? No. Should they? Who cares? AAPL fell about ten points, roughly 10%. Are they discriminatory towards LGBTEIQPS? Really? No, their sales were disappointing.
The market got hit Thursday and Friday for various currency related reasons primarily related to Japan and the BOJ.
*IS* shorting TGT stock a good bet? Well, I happen to be, but that is because on a chart, $84 is a high-high for TGT, and my suspicion is that the economy is not doing so great that retailers in general should be doing well. But I would have made that play (and I did) well before the boycott news came out. TGT was 15 points lower circa 68 when the market sucked in Jan-Feb. That wasn’t a long time ago, unless I misunderestimate.
This is not cause and effect. Now, everybody start yakking about how they will not buy anything from Target and feel good about it and how they used to buy this and that but now they will only buy this.
It’s delusional.

Thinking, did anyone previously to this ever anticipate in considering a stock purchase that a company’s bathroom policy would need to be taken into account?
Target is trying to play the political correctness game and that is their most basic fault in this.
