Politico ^ | April 29, 2016 | Kyle Cheney

Ted Cruz got crushed in Virginia on primary day, but even Donald Trump’s forces believe he’s about to stuff the state’s national convention delegation full of supporters anyway. Virginia GOP insiders with knowledge of the state’s delegate selection process expect Cruz backers to overrun this Saturday’s state convention and use their numbers to guarantee that the 13 statewide delegates to the national convention lean Cruz.

That is the game but it would be nice if Cruz actually won some elections.

From my firsthand, inside observations on how the Virginia GOP works, I can confirm: the party is full of complete idiots, from its Executive Chairman down to its grassroots.

Won’t matter. Trump wins on the first ballot.

It would be nice if the voters took the names of those apparatchiks who sold out against the people.

None should ever run unopposed even for dogcatcher, these political whores must be nipped in the bud.

Boycott any turncoat delegate who betrays the voters.

Ted Cruz: “I am the king of voterless states!”™ And now, voter deficient conventions!

We’ll see how they do. I suspect that Trump will do pretty good. I know several going as Trump supporters.

Cruz is probably the slimiest politician alive. What a loser. And his dad is a loon.

It would be nice if Trump won the nomination on the first ballot. Failing that, it would be nice if Trump and Cruz made a deal - a really great deal worthy of “The Art of the Deal”. The whole point of Trump’s campaign is not just that the GOP is not behaving as it should but that our entire federal government has that problem. For Trump to trash the system and then walk out because the system is (as he already knew) corrupt would be wrong.

Trump needs to make sure he has that win on the first ballot. If he doesn’t, Cruz may (inaccurately) believe that he has a second ballot win at the convention. What will really happen if Trump does not get the nomination is that Governor Kasich (or some other pro-Amnesty, pro-Obamacare, anti-gun RINO) will be nominated and will then lose the general election resoundingly to the felon, and at best we will move into a second civil war.

Note: I am not advocating civil war when I say “at best”, just observing that as terrible as another such war would be, a Hillary regime would be even worse.

Also, I know a lot of Trump supporters don’t like Cruz, and I don’t particularly care if you want to have a beer with him or even if you think he’s not a Natural Born Citizen. Ted Cruz is a genuine, life-long conservative who thinks at the level of Scalia and has the same judicial philosophy. He is exactly the person we want deciding for the next 30 years whether the Constitution is the “living document” that liberals claim or the literal words on the page with their original meaning as understood when adopted. Ted Cruz would be a great Supreme Court justice.

No kidding. I walked away from the party when I left Fairfax County. I remember when the Fairfax County GOP was a powerhouse. And I remember the Fall of the FCGOP. . .

He did, remember? He won FIVE states in a row....1.5 million voters voted...only problem is many didn’t. 3 of those 5 didn’t hold an election where they actually got to vote.

Over the past 2 months, Cruz has become repulsive. I honestly don’t know that I could vote for a Trump/Cruz ticket.
