Welcome to the team. Go on the Trump website and read through his position papers. It will make you feel better.

I agree that Cruz is an excellent man and an excellent advocate of conservative values, but I think Trump is what the world needs more.

When Trump swept the Northeast, I figured his momentum would carry him to victory in Indiana and the Western States.

The supreme beauty of the Trump Revolution is that Trump is NOT a politician. He speaks the truth and lets the chips fall where they may, which is exactly what the world needs.

The basic evil fundamental to the decadence of Western Civilization is mendacity--scorn of truth. Hell! In some nations it is a crime to speak the truth!

Welcome aboard!

As to your question, the wall is a physical structure.

High enough to prevent people driving over it, and deep enough to prevent tunnels.

Thanks for a well written piece without the usual insults and circular firing squad.

I see the wall as a metaphor at first. Just the threat of building the wall will have a big effect on the illegals. Eventually though, it will have to be built.

My first choice was Walker. Since he dropped out, I have vacillated between Cruz and Trump or both or neither at least four or five times.
Still Trump’s the only one that is consistent on the border and putting American interests first. So I will put up with any of, what I consider his faults in order to get those two.

——do you see it as a physical structure, a metaphor,——

As I have posted before, Trump speaks in metaphors.

The metaphorical wall is the Mexican government that will in fact pay for the wall. Trump will offer the Mexicans a deal they dare not refuse. As a result Mexico will use police and a border patrol formed from the military to stop the flow.

The wall is also existing law that is not enforced. On our side of the border, our Border Patrol will be charged with enforcing the existing law. The niceties of legalistic delay will be disregarded. Sheriff Joe will prevail and his jails will be emptied as busloads are carried to the border and forced across the wall. Bleeding hearts will bleed out. Sanctuary cities will be like school cafeterias that don’t follow the Wookies demands. They will lose federal funds if they don’t enforce the law.

For these reasons and more, a physical wall is not required. Vigorous enforcement and coerced Mexican enforcement will do the job.

My ex parents in law in WA state were both dyed in the wool Kennedy democrats when I married their daughter. My ex wife was pregnant with our first son coming in to the ‘88 presidential elections, and I got my MIL to vote Republican for probably the first time in her life by asking her the following...”So, you’re telling me that you’re going to vote for a party and a man that will take food out of your future grandchild’s mouth?” I was in the Army had to explain to her the dems hatred of the military and their constant cutting of the military budget when they are in charge.

I see the wall in many forms..physical, enforcing the laws on the books and providing the resources to enforce them. The current legal immigration process also needs streamlining, though. Applicants waiting up to and in excess of 7 years to acquire citizenship is the other side of that coin. but right now we have to stop the bleeding at the borders, not just Mexico, all of them. That’s the first step.
Nullifying ‘sanctuary cities’ within individual states will be harder; states’ rights, etc. Then the courts, streamlining the exit process, etc. There’s a boatload of issues all related but the bleeding has to stop first.

Good luck. I see the wall as both. I believe Trump will build a physical structure, and take away their pay. My opinion.

I was a Cruz guy last year before Trump got in the race. But Cruz wasn't talking about the things Trump was. And this country needs the things that Trump is saying.

As to the rest. I didn't hold my nose to vote for McStain as I didn't vote for the louse. That's one guy I just could not lower my standards for.

When Trump references the Mexican Wall, do you see it as a physical structure, a metaphor, or both?

Probably both. One metaphorical aspect is supposed to involve Mexicans in the U.S. wiring money back home. This might be taxed and the proceeds used to build the physical part. Or the threat of blocking these transfers may be the leverage to get Mexico to pay for it.

Illegals who are actually working for an employer might be detyerred by a huge fine-—for both the company who hired them & the actual illegal.

HOWEVER——those illegals who are criminals are NOT on a payroll—unless you count them as self employed dealing drugs.

Those won’t get hit by the fines mentioned above.

The wall needs to be built——in real form & as high as needs be. Then electrify the wires on to with enough voltage to fry anyone who tries to cross.

This same country that complains that WE won’t let their useless extras into this country have a VERY vigilant border situation at their southern border to keep others countries from dumping into Mexico.

Your comments on immigration are spot on. I worked as a Border Patrol Agent for 25 years and I can tell you that we don't need a wall or 40,000 agents to secure the border.

We need to fix and enforce a sane immigration policy. Full enforcement of E-Verify, cutting off all state support for illegal aliens would have a greater impact than the tallest wall.
