Don't most candidates wait until they're nominated before announcing VP pick? This is the first time that I can recall a candidate having the gall to announce a VP pick while running a very distant second in the race. Will Cruz also announce who he's picking for his cabinet?
Reagan announced Schweicker in 1976
Cruz must believe the polls about women hating Trump (or the polls about women thinking Cruz is creepy).
Either way, it won’t hurt Cruz and it might help him pick up some female voters.
Reagan did in 76, but the race was much closer and it didn’t help.
If that’s true, despite all the praise she gets, I am completely unimpressed with Carly and I believe that reaction was reflected in her actual primary non-performance. I mean come on, she’s a political non-entity.

Newt was ridiculing it in Hannity as well. Picking a VP before being nominated, much less when you’re not winning, isn’t right. Newt said “Doesn’t he know he’s losing?” LOL!
