Rise in CO2 has 'greened Planet Earth' - BBC News.

By Roger Harrabin BBC environment analyst

Carbon dioxide emissions from industrial society have driven a huge growth in trees and other plants.

A new study says that if the extra green leaves prompted by rising CO2 levels were laid in a carpet, it would cover twice the continental USA.

Climate sceptics argue the findings show that the extra CO2 is actually benefiting the planet.

But the researchers say the fertilisation effect diminishes over time.

They warn the positives of CO2 are likely to be outweighed by the negatives.

The lead author, Prof Ranga Myneni from Boston University, told BBC News the extra tree growth would not compensate for global warming, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, ocean acidification, the loss of Arctic sea ice, and the prediction of more severe tropical storms.

More green equals more oxygen produced.
More green also lowers co2 because thats what they take in o grow and produce oxygen.

Plants are co2 scrubbers. As well as being o2 producers.

More like people with integrity with respect to studying the climate make that argument.

Carbon sequestration- trees are pros at it. Let them do their job, and we’ll be fine.

More plants = more oxygen. And the problem is?

“would not compensate for global warming, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, ocean acidification, the loss of Arctic sea ice, and the prediction of more severe tropical storms.”

None of which has happened.

Too many plants means more people can be fed and not starve.

This must be stopped as it runs exact opposite to the Georgia Guidestones Earth population limit of 500M. {sarc/}

“More plants = more oxygen. And the problem is?”

Loss of grant money and political power! That’s what this is all about! Global Warming in and of itself is a solution in search of a problem!

Do these greenies who bleat “CO2 bad”realize that if the carbon dioxide level goes below a certain point , all plant life would die?

It goes against the official narrative, so it must be bad. In some way, somehow.
Gimme a research grant and I'll come up with something.

CO2 .. IS NOT HARMFUL TO THE PLANET.

IT’S CARBON MONOXIDE THAT IS HARMFUL - AND PEOPLE WHO ARE IGNORANT OF CHEMISTRY, DO NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

Humans expel CO2, which causes the plants and trees to produce oxygen, which the humans need to remain alive.

Wow, GOD knew what HE was doing with that formula.

Bill Nye the science guy agrees. He can’t sleep at night knowing some people disagree so everyone should be off to the federal gulags so he can stop tossing and turning and finally relax knowing everyone remaining agrees with him.

Why isn't it working on my grass?

Good question.
My guess is your grass (and mine) is missing a nutrient other than CO2.
I'm going to get some lawn fertilizer (only to help sequester some of those bad greenhouse gases of course).

——Why isn’t it working on my grass?——

the damper nodulus cuts in when the internal CO2 level reaches the limit imposed by the genes specific to the kind of grass.

to improve grass, add nitrogen and potash and phosphate

This BBC article is crap.

First of all of course plants are thriving with the CO2 we put in the atmosphere. This is not a new discovery, but has been well understood for a long time, but very undereported.

Secondly this quote is pure unadulterated B.S.:

The lead author, Prof Ranga Myneni from Boston University, told BBC News the extra tree growth would not compensate for global warming, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, ocean acidification, the loss of Arctic sea ice, and the prediction of more severe tropical storms.

Science has shown that this stuff is not being significantly effected by our increase in CO2 at all. Glaciers have been melting for many centuries. Sea levels have risen at about the same rate for centuries. There are not more severe storms than there used to be unless you count damage in property values (especially without adjusting for inflation), so that is bunk.

The IPCC has declared CO2 a pollutant and the US government pretty much agrees and Bill Nye thinks everyone that doesn’t agree should pretty much go to the gulag or die. Carbon monoxide - CO2 what’s the difference. Get in line and think correctly or suffer the consequences. Amazing the irony that these “scientists dealing in “facts”” would most certainly condemn the Catholic church over Copernicus and Galileo and all Christian thought and philosophy while not realizing their own regressive suppression of intelligent thought and choice.
