Now more than ten years old, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) no longer can blame its continued program failures, employee misconduct and lingering management challenges on growing pains.
Since its inception, DHS has faced significant obstacles, including consolidating 22 pre-existing agencies and reporting to approximately 100 Congressional oversight committees, all while trying to strike a balance between National security and protecting privacy. However, with this country more than $19 trillion in debt, our taxpayers cant afford to support failing management.

I was against Bush creating the DHS in the first place. It made no sense to me. Part of the 9/11 failure was in agencies not communicating with each other. So it seemed counterproductive to create another agency whose mission overlapped with those of the FBI and CIA.
The government is full of incompetents, half-competents, traitors, DIMs and LIB asshats. What’s new?
Just last week I went by a power station dam that is protected by DHS. The fence on the dike that leads to the locks on the dam was reinforced with an anchored, heavy gage, anti gate crash wire. However, the wires are not connected in the center! In other words, they were installed, but they are not functional. It has been that way for at least 5 years.
Trump needs to abolish “Homeland” and start over with with a new bunch.
