Bangor, Maine (CNN)
Maine Gov. Paul LePage accused the Ted Cruz campaign Friday of going back on a promise to back a "unity slate" of the state's delegates, a move that the Donald Trump supporter saw as "stabbing us in the back."
In a statement, LePage said, "We reached a deal with Cruz's national campaign to put up a unity slate that would honor the wishes of the thousands of Mainers who voted at caucus. But Cruz's Northeast Political Director David Sawyer lied to us and broke the deal. Sawyer stabbed us in the back, reneged on the unity slate, and betrayed the people of Maine."
The fight is emblematic of the intense battle for delegates heading into the Republican National Convention in July. Cruz's campaign is pushing for every delegate it can collect to prevent Trump from winning the 1,237 he needs to win the nomination outright and force a floor fight. Both Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich need to win more delegates than are available in the remaining primary contests to win the GOP nomination on the first ballot.
Though he singled out Sawyer in his statement, LePage said the actions were emblematic of the Cruz campaign. "As we have seen throughout the country, Cruz's national campaign is run by greedy political hoooligans."
"I can't stand by and watch as Cruz and the Republican Establishment forcibly overrule the votes of Mainers who chose Trump and Kasich," he said. "I call on Senator Cruz to condemn Sawyer's disrespectful and dishonest tactics in Maine."....

So how is Cruz not closer to an anti-Christ than Christian. I never bought his dad laying hands on him and praying in tongues for the camera.
We know Cruz loses this, but are Texans smart enough to not elect this jackal?
That coming from the Governor of the state.
Nice job, Ted.
Ted Cruz can't be gone soon enough...
obviously there is a difference of opinion and i bet the governor is a trump or kasich guy.
With allies like these...
Why would anyone stand there while a Mormon went all TV preacher and called YOU the "RAISING OF THE SAINTS" (whatever that means) and "THE WHITE HORSE OF PROPHECY" (whatever that means) and "THE ANOINTED ONE", or require his wife, an independent career woman, to go around calling him, "THE FACE OF GOD"? What Christian would stand there and not stop and correct and disavow such heresy and cult weirdness.
It matters not as Cruz won’t be at the convention.
;)
There is no unity possible with Cruz.
He is mathematically eliminated at this point.
Cruz is a sideshow at a possible contested convention, but he has zero chance of becoming the nominee at one.
So then Ted wants more than his fair share?
Rationally, others think that every day he stays in, he gets smaller and smaller and smaller.
My dad really was a milkman.
.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Jesus himself objected to his disciples calling him son of God.
Cruz is so lost in his alternate universe. I don’t see how he ever finds his way out.
Two years from now he’ll still be complaining that President Trump refuses to debate him. HA!
“We know Cruz loses this, but are Texans smart enough to not elect this jackal?”
I love Texas, but in evidence we have;
Sheila Jackson Lee
Ann Richards
George W Bush
Lyndon Johnson
Jim Wright
John Cornyn
Abortion Barbie
and a long list of lesser luminaries.
So very possibly no, Texans actually may not be smart enough not to reelect him. And if they don’t, its a safe bet the replacement will be a patrician stuffed shirt GOPe type.
A lot of Christians talk in tongue. Vineyards, some Baptists, Assemblies of God, some Catholics, a few Episcopals, and a number of others.
