If I’ve said it once. I’ve said it a million times - Trump is NOT a conservative - not now, not ever. Cult of personality. Period, end of sentence!

“He even declared in the past that he would protect Christians and social conservatives”

Oh yes, and he will protect Christians better than anybody else. And he still has the Bible his mother gave him. And he loves “the evangelicals”. Right.

And also, just saw him on Hannity, and his argument has to do with the fact that North Carolina’s law is costing them money. What is he saying? Is he saying that because liberals and the media are able to squeeze and intimidate states financially, they are supposed to roll over and abandon their principles?

What is the GOP Senate and House doing about this?

They have the power to create a bill. Trump does not.

Why does Trump get blamed for everything, but the GOP
controlled house and senate get a pass?

He just clarified on Hannity. Said NC punished for that law but if they want that, fine. He said that should be determined on a local level, too many big issue on the federal level.

Trump is not playing this like a politician - a business man needs to do what he needs to do to close the deal. And the deal is President of the United States.

And he has his eyes on the Sanders voters. Many of them are anti-Hillary and anti-establishment - and some are also pro-democrats. If he can pull off 25-30% of those anti-Hillary, anti-establishment vote, he wins.

And this sets the stage for that.

We have just never seen a non-politician business man running for President before - this is what it looks like.

Get use to saying “President Trump!”

Read this 5hree times and even went to find out who Tyler O’Neil is trying to where there was any truth. I found none. Even the quote he uses is from something written elsewhere since there is editorial within the quote.

I’d be at odds had this been about the showers but it’s about the bathrooms. NC enacted a law. There have been problems. The folks needling NC are buttwipes, but it is happening. Trump said maybe they shouldn’t have enacted the law. He attacked no one. He didn’t champion Transgender rights or causes. He said maybe it could have been left alone. He didn’t pass the law, he didn’t sign it, he didn’t campaign on it or for it.

Anyone is entitled to think what they what but this guy spins this out of control like Cruz would. By the end he has Trump.as the grand Marshall of pride day. It sounds like Cruz even wrote it for him. It’s a big lie as EEE says above.

"North Carolina did something that was very strong and they're paying a big price and there's a lot of problems," said Trump

He is right, they solved nothing and created a poop-storm. Under the NC law, a fully trans-man is now required to use the ladies room. Solved nothing.

The Donald might not be a tank, but rather a Trojan horse.

Conspiracy theory for y'all: Trump enters the race to poison the well for all the GOP candidates on behalf of the Democrats. Once he wins the nomination he backs off on all of his talking points(wall/deportation/etc.) and a dispirited Republican base stay home - allowing Hillary/Biden/Warren to win and establish a permanent Progressive Democrat majority that never loses again via open borders and immediate citizenship. Trump goes back to reality TV and is a bigger star than ever for the rest of his life. We conservatives eventually are either driven out (not sure where we'll go) or killed by SJWs who object to our beliefs. America ends with a whimper, but Trump TV is there to cover it. So it's all good.

He will do this on issue after issue after issue. It is IMPOSSIBLE to take Trump as a serious thinker in any way.

I”ll vote for him if he’s the R nominee and, as another freeper said, I’ll hope he’ll be a better president that I’ll expect him to be. But I think his candidacy has been a disaster for the R party, the conservative cause and the USA.

"North Carolina did something that was very strong and they're paying a big price and there's a lot of problems," said Trump, who would have left things as they were. "There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate, there has been so little trouble."

Sounds a little bit like Trump criticism of Pam Geller.

I think Trump’s penchant for being non-PC is a bit overrated. From his condemning of Pamela Gellar for the attempted jihadist attack in TX to his siding with the establishment in SC over the Confederate flag issue to today’s inclination to stand against those who tried to combat the homo-fascists and pervs in NC.

In the end, all I know is that while Trump’s stated populist/nationalist stances are actually MORE in line with my own views than anyone else the GOP trots out, I just don’t “trust” the guy one single inch. And it’s things like this that solidify it.
