Bernie and Hillary totaled 1.8 million votes. Trump/Cruz/Kasich totaled less than 1 million votes. And you think the Conservative Party (150,000 people) in New York and independents will make up that difference?

Yes, it was. And the registration change deadline was clear back in October (reportedly, even some of Trump's relatives missed it).

According to the Board of Elections, on 1 April, there were 5,792,497 registered Democrats to 2,731,688 registered Republicans statewide (3,071,159 Democrats to 460,053 Republicans within NYC).
