That canard again. It was a closed primary. Trump won a greater percentage of his potential voters than Hillary did.
We don’t know how independent and conservative party members would have voted because they were not allowed to vote.
RE: It was a closed primary
Wasn’t the New York Democratic primary a closed primary as well?
Well yes it is. We will have to assume then that New York independents will overwhelmingly go for Trump in the general. Any indication that this will be so?
Bernie and Hillary totaled 1.8 million votes. Trump/Cruz/Kasich totaled less than 1 million votes. And you think the Conservative Party (150,000 people) in New York and independents will make up that difference?
Or perhaps they are campaigning for third party candidates (signing ballot lists).
Don't confuse the author with facts. It screws up his narrative.
Yes, it was. And the registration change deadline was clear back in October (reportedly, even some of Trump's relatives missed it).
According to the Board of Elections, on 1 April, there were 5,792,497 registered Democrats to 2,731,688 registered Republicans statewide (3,071,159 Democrats to 460,053 Republicans within NYC).
