An U.S. Navy picture shows what appears to be a Russian Sukhoi SU-24 attack aircraft flying over the USS Donald Cook in the Baltic Sea. The repeated flights by the Sukhoi SU-24 warplanes, which also flew near the ship a day earlier, were so close they created wake in the water, with 11 passes, the official said. REUTERS/US Navy

They better watch out, our climate change weapons will expose their carbon footprint.

With Obama followed by President Trump? Who would stop them?

Reminds me of someone I worked for, many, many years ago. He was a SJW, too. I just didn’t know the term for it, then.

:o

They say we’re too close to the Russian border; attempting to be intimidating. I don’t know.

We sailed close to the disputed Spratly islands in the South China Sea. Too close they say; attempting to be intimidating.

Are we operating legitimately, or are the neocons aiming for another multi-decade conflict?

As a reminder, here's a more demonstrative photo depicting the recent flyby:

11 passes? Seriously?

I’d have given them the first 2 for video/audio documentation, the third they’d have eaten a surface to air missile. At the very least...lock on to them and tell them, one more attack run and we’ll be forced to defend ourselves.

Good grief.

No need to waste a missile. The phalanx would easily do the job ... just testing of course.

You can bet the national command authorities told the crew to prepare to surrender their smart phones and hand-helds to the airplanes if they conducted one more pass.

Could be that the Russians were nervous by our presence. Maybe they have something to hide.

Yes, the Russians are correct in demanding that the US Navy quit sailing its ships so near to their aircraft flying peacefully in international air space. Obviously Obama is taunting Putin by ordering the Navy to sail its ships within 30-50 feet of where Russian aircraft are flying.

I’d have given them the first 2 for video/audio documentation

In P-3's in the late 70's our ROE allowed 3 passes for pictures of war vessels - left side, right side and an overhead.

One time the camera acted up on a pass and we went back in (pass #4) to make up, and got a red flare across our nose for our trouble.

The Ruskies consider the Baltic their personal bathtub. Kind of like the way we think of the gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.

I had forgot about this supposed incident:

What spooked the USS Donald Cook so much in the Black Sea?

http://www.voltairenet.org/article185860.html

As the Russian jet approached the US vessel, the electronic device disabled all radars, control circuits, systems, information transmission, etc. on board the US destroyer. In other words, the all-powerful Aegis system, now hooked up - or about to be - with the defense systems installed on NATO’s most modern ships was shut down, as turning off the TV set with the remote control.
