“I have found the greatest power in the world is the power of prayer.” Cecil B. Demille

Hollywood Prayer Network (HPN) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization led by entertainment industry Christians, seeking to impact our culture for Christ through prayer. We are committed to asking Christians everywhere to pray for the artists and professionals, projects and productions, and global impact of Hollywood: the world’s most influential mission field. With an attitude of love, it is our passion to mobilize people around the world to engage in culture, pray for the media, and help transform the spiritual climate of Hollywood. Whether you’re an industry professional who wants prayer and support or a Christian with a heart for prayer, we want to build the bridges, light the way, and bring hope and healing to an industry that dramatically shapes our world.

HPN was created as a prayer ministry for the entertainment industry in July 2001. It was birthed out of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood as the third of four Christian organizations launched to reach the media. Although many Christians believe that Hollywood is “Sodom and Gomorrah,” HPN Founding Director Karen Covell views it as a redeemable place, similar to the Biblical city of Nineveh. Ultimately, we want to see God transform the hearts and lives of people in the global entertainment industry, and we believe we must begin with love, encouragement and prayer.

As a defined group of over 10,000+ strong, the Christians working in this mission field are growing as a community and experiencing God’s presence here more than ever before. We encourage industry professionals to see themselves as missionaries, and we are committed to have each one of them covered in prayer by an intercessor outside of Hollywood through our One-to-One Prayer Partnerships and our Incognito Prayer Team. We also host Quarterly Prayer Nights, sponsor Studio Lot Prayer Walks, and put on various prayer events in and for our local Hollywood community.

HPN believes that by mobilizing global prayer, we can be a part of God’s miraculous work of changing the spiritual climate of Hollywood, from the inside out. HPN currently reaches over 15,000 intercessors around the word, many of whom are representing prayer groups, small groups and churches. With over 90 HPN Chapters, we believe that thousands more are praying for the people in all areas of media, from in front of the camera to behind the scenes. HPN invites churches, organizations and individuals across America and the globe to commit to pray for all aspects of the entertainment industry, including the people, the projects and the issues in film, television, music and news media.

HPN contacts its members through our Monthly Prayer Newsletters, which include prayer requests, updates, praises and newsbreaks relevant to the entertainment industry. Please feel free to request our materials to learn more about how you can be a part of God’s work in this city and industry!

Our Commitment

HPN is proud to say that great effort is always made to assure that our research, statistics, quotes, prayer requests and public relations are tasteful, accurate and non-judgmental. We strive to be positive and wise in our approach and prayerful in all our endeavors.

I heard about this on Janet Parshall’s radio show yesterday. Worth thinking about.

I probably killed more men than Cecil B. Demille.
